Mental fitness 6 week programme 

If you’re not physically fit, you’d feel physical stress as you climb a steep hill.  If you’re not mentally fit, you’d feel mental stress, such as anxiety, frustration, or unhappiness, as you handle work and relationship challenges.  Eighty percent of people score below the minimum level of mental fitness required for peak performance and happiness.  

Developed by the Positive Intelligence organisation, this 6 week programme builds your mental fitness by downloading a simple operating system that will improve the way you handle stress, relationships, work issues: any area of your life where you are feeling challenged and out of control.

I offer the Mental Fitness programme to all my coaching clients, inclusive within the coaching fee. If you’re interested in the Mental Fitness programme but are not currently in coaching, I am happy to discuss a set-up which would work for you.

What is the Mental fitness programme?

Based on a synthesis of neuroscience, cognitive and positive psychology and performance science, Shirzad Chamine, Stanford lecturer, Coach CEO and author, has built a 6 week programme to significantly improve your mental fitness. The results produce dramatically improved performance and productivity and a calm, clear and happier mind.

How is your mental fitness measured?

Mental fitness is measured by looking at the strength of your positive mental muscles (Sage) versus the negative (Saboteur).  The relative strength of your positive Sage versus negative Saboteurs is called PQ (Positive Intelligence Quotient).  

Saboteurs react to challenges in ways that generate negative emotions such as stress, disappointment, self-doubt, regret, anger, shame, guilt, or worry.Your Sage handles challenges through positive emotions like empathy, gratitude, curiosity, creativity, self-confidence, and calm, clear-headed, laser-focused action. 

PQ is the measure of your mental fitness. It's the best predictor of how happy you are and how well you perform relative to your potential. With practice you can boost your PQ significantly. 

How does the programme operate?

The programme combines weekly video sessions with daily app-guided practices to build your 3 core mental fitness muscles.

A weekly 1 hour video guides you through experiential exercises that deepen and personalise your understanding of the mental fitness tools.

A daily app-guided focus and practice builds your mental muscles to form lasting positive habits of your mind. And the interactive PQ gym builds your self-command muscle so you can act with clarity and calmness in the midst of challenges.

You’ll be assigned to a weekly Pod group of 3 or 4 people, there to support each other in being accountable for moving through the programme.
