COACHING

Time to think differently

People come to coaching for all sorts of reasons.

There may be a particular challenge they want to resolve, a decision they need to make or a change they want to create. They may feel stuck and not know why. Or things may be going perfectly well, but they want the space to think about what's next.

Coaching provides a confidential and supportive space to stop, think and explore.

We'll work together to explore what's going on for you and what you want to be different. You bring your experience, knowledge and perspective; I bring my coaching expertise – listening, asking questions, offering challenge and helping you look at things in ways you may not have considered before.

Together, we'll build a clearer understanding of what matters to you, what may be getting in the way and the choices available to you – using those insights to explore new perspectives, make choices and try out different ways of moving forward.

Executive Coaching

Our working lives can be a huge source of fulfilment, identity and purpose – and some of our greatest challenges.

My executive coaching focuses on you as an individual: what you want from your career, how you want to develop as a leader and how you navigate the opportunities, relationships and challenges that come with working life.

Developing your career

You may be looking for your next role, considering promotion, stepping into a more senior position or thinking longer-term about where you want your career to take you. Perhaps you're working towards board level, or you've reached a point where you're questioning what you want next.

Coaching gives you space to step away from the immediate pressures of work and think more deeply about where you're going, what matters to you and the choices you want to make. We can then turn that thinking into action – whether that's exploring different career options, preparing for an application or interview, stepping into a new role or planning how to position yourself for what comes next.

Developing as a leader

Taking on greater leadership responsibility often means developing ourselves as much as developing new skills.

You may be leading a team for the first time, stepping into a more senior role, navigating challenging relationships or wanting to feel more confident in your own leadership.

Coaching gives you space to explore how you want to lead, understand what's helping or getting in your way, and find ways of working and relating to others that feel effective and genuinely your own. That might mean developing your strategic vision for a team, building more effective relationships, addressing feelings of self-doubt or 'imposter syndrome', or trying out different ways of approaching a leadership challenge.

“The work we did together supported me to progress my career as I moved up into leading the organisation. It had a big impact on me and I will always remember how Helen held those sessions with such professionalism and kindness.”

Personal Coaching

Sometimes people come to coaching because something is wrong. But just as often, it's because something doesn't feel quite right.

Life may actually be going well, but there's a sense of unsettlement – a feeling that something is changing, or that what has worked for you until now may not be quite right for what comes next.

These feelings often emerge around periods of transition: changing career direction, starting a family or returning to work, moving home, approaching retirement, or simply reaching a new stage of life and wondering what you want from it.

Personal coaching gives you space to step away from the day-to-day and explore what's going on for you. Together, we can look at what matters to you now, what may be changing, what might be holding you back and the possibilities available to you.

The aim is to help you develop greater clarity about what you want and feel more confident about the choices you make.

“The coaching process is challenging – like heading down a dark tunnel and not knowing if there will be anything to find. But with Helen by my side it feels safer, achievable, believable and most importantly, I know the journey is totally right for me and is created by me.”

How does it work?

We start with a free, no-obligation initial conversation. This is an opportunity for you to tell me a little about what has brought you to coaching, for me to explain how I work and for us both to decide whether we feel we could work well together.

If we decide to go ahead, we begin with a 90-minute Discovery session. This gives me the opportunity to get to know you better – what makes you tick, what's important to you and what you want from coaching. It also gives you an opportunity to experience how I work and for us to shape an approach that will work best for you.

I draw on a range of coaching approaches and tools, but there is no one formula. As we work together, we'll explore different perspectives, open up possibilities and identify ways forward. Coaching also gives you a place to try things out – taking ideas and actions into your everyday life, seeing what happens and bringing that experience back into our conversations to explore and build on.

Sessions are confidential and can take place online or face-to-face in North London.
